Biagio Orlandi

Was born in 1973 in Matera.

He obtains a diploma as saxophonist under the guidance of the teacher Eugenio Colombo at the Conservatory “L.Refice” in Frosinone where he also gets a second level academic diploma in Music Didatics for instrumental orientation. He has graduated in Ethnomusicology at the University of Rome “Sapienza”. He has attended jazz and improvisation seminars together with some artists such as Bob Mover, Pietro Tonolo, Claudio Fasoli, Giovanni Maier, Roberto Ottaviano, Maurizio Giammarco. He has collaborated with musicians in the class as William Parker, Kent Carter, Gabriele Mirabassi, Gianfranco Tedeschi, Davide Santorsola, Ettore Fioravanti, Mimmo Locasciulli, Roberto Kunstler and more. He has taken part with Eugenio Colombo in the “44th Festival Di Nuova Consonanza” in Rome. At the moment Biagio Orlandi cooperates as musician and arranger with various music jazz formations and with the singersongwriter Piji (Pierluigi Siciliani) with whom he obtained numerous awards for important contests such as “Premio Tenco” at the Ariston theatre in Sanremo. He is a saxophone teacher at middle schools with musical orientation.
